Diabetes care in Reading, Wokingham and West Berkshire

CHOICE patient education for Type 1

CHOICE is the gold standard structured patient education for Type 1 patients in Berkshire West CCGs and replaces DAFNE

We are offering an intensive 4 day (over 4 weeks) carbohydrate counting course to those with Type 1 diabetes across the locality, called CHOICE: CHO and Insulin Calculation Education. This replaces DAFNE.

This course provides detailed information to people with Type 1 diabetes and gives them the tools they need to manage their condition for the rest of their lives. It is not meant to replace the 3-hour CarbAware course and people who have done CarbAware may like to 'graduate' to CHOICE.
